In this concept for a video game, I wanted to capture the essence of sickness in the piece through rough textures and colors. Photo-bashing was a dominant part of making this work, as I also wanted to capture the horrific realism of a quarantined city.

Rubble was used nearly everywhere in the game, and so many, many textures and assets were needed. Here are a select few of my favorites with their "weathered" alternatives.

The plague is reminiscent of spores on moss, and so I created such brushes to replicate the effect of this specific lifeform.

The grass, similarly to the mossy textures, needed to feel infected. Color and texture were ideal in finding this medium.

This road is from a video game that I was a part of as a personal project. The theme was plague meets gothic horror, and so I wanted to capture the essence of sickness in the piece through rough textures and colors.
